Wedding day tips
Ensure you eat a proper breakfast or lunch on the day – time goes fast and you will be no good to anyone if you haven’t eaten anything all day. Alcohol will not improve this situation ?
If driving directly to your ceremony location ie. not getting ready at your venue, allow time for any unforeseen events – traffic jams, public holidays etc.
If the ceremony is to be held on public property, check if Council approval is required.
Have a large umbrella in the Wedding car in case of rain.
In case of hot weather have fluids available to prevent dehydration
Appoint a “yes” person. This is the person everyone goes to if and when they have a question. Provide this persons details to all suppliers for your wedding day so that you can truly focus on enjoying the day. This person should know and understand your vision and be capable of making important decisions.
Pack an emergency kit with items including:
- Spare pantyhose (if you’re wearing them)
- Pain relief
- sewing kit including spare buttons
- bobby pins
- deodorant
- sanitary items
- tissues
- lipstick/perfume
- blister stop
- Hairspray
- Insect repellant
Take a few moments to take in everything with your husband by yourselves. The day will go so fast.
Splurge on new perfume. In the future when you wear this perfume it will bring back all the memories of your special day.
When it comes to family photos, have a list of all the groups you require. Ensure you have a trusted “ring master” who will be able to gather these groups of people quickly and painlessly.
Have a back up plan available in case of bad weather:
– An alternative venue for holding the Ceremony indoors. Should you think you might need a ceremony location change, include in your invites a phone number for guests to call to hear a recorded message with details of the new ceremony location (so save calling everyone or having someone speak to every guest who rings).
– Umbrellas available for guests.
